Celebrate Cearbhall’s 100th Birthday

Bray Public Library, Eglinton Road, Bray.
Saturday 27th Aug

Admission free

He was Ireland’s Fifth President and was born on Main St Bray 100 years ago. His father was a fishmonger - his shop was where the Jasmine Chinese Restaurant now is.

A co-incidence because these days our best fishmonger in Bray is Chinese, around the corner in the Arcade.

Cearbhall Ó Dálaigh chose law as a career and became Chief Justice of Ireland before becoming President of Ireland in 1974 after the sudden death of Erskine Childers. A long way from the marble fish counter in Bray.

Tomorrow’s event commences with an illustrated presentation in the library, followed by a walking tour of places associated with Cearbhall Ó Dálaigh Trail in celebration of the centenary of the birth of Ireland’s 5th. President of Ireland. All welcome.

Within walking distance of Diamond Valley Apartments.
